The Bridge Programme - Journal Quick Guide

Modified on Wed, 15 Apr at 4:03 PM

What is the journal and how do I use it?

The journal on The Bridge Programme GCC page provides a space for learners to reflect on their learning, track goals and refine ideas during the programme. The online journal has been created to support learner engagement with the topics covered in each webinar. Learners can choose whether to keep a journal online or on paper.

The contents of the journal on the GCC are visible only to the individual and the administrators of the site. No other programme participant can view an individual’s journal entries.

How to get the most out of using a journal while learning

Please follow these instructions to help you get the most out of keeping a structured reflective learning journal:

  1. Make time for regular entries. Plan to write in your journal following each webinar. Consider scheduling journaling writing sessions.
  2. Find a format that works for you. The format we suggest is electronic, however if you would prefer to keep a paper journal please do.
  3. Integrate and demonstrate your learning. Use your entries to connect insights to new concepts, your professional life, and construct new knowledge. You can demonstrate your learning through completing journal activities using analysis, explanations, summarising key points, reflections, interpretations, and posing questions.
