What is the Procurement Capability Programme?

The Procurement Capability Programme is a new learning initiative launched in 2026. It is designed to complement existing products like TPP e-learning rather than replace them.

While TPP e-learning specifically focuses on the Public Procurement Act (2023), the Procurement Capability Programme is broader, focusing on helping people understand what procurement looks like in government and the general procurement lifecycle.

Who is it for?

The Awareness module is a standalone resource within the new GCF Procurement Capability Programme. It is specifically designed to support non-specialists who work outside of formal procurement roles. This module provides a foundational understanding of the legislation and best practices governing public sector procurement. It is an essential tool for leadership staff and budget holders who are responsible for the expenditure of public money. By completing this training, you will gain the knowledge necessary to navigate procurement workflows effectively and ensure compliance. Ultimately, this resource empowers anyone involved in managing public funds to make informed and responsible decisions. 

How many modules does the procurement capability programme contain?

Awareness- It is an entry-level part of the procurement capability programme. This entry-level module offers an overview of public sector procurement legislation and operational practices for individuals outside formal procurement roles, such as budget holders, leadership staff, and anyone involved with expenditure. 

Practitioner- To be launched in spring 2027

Expert- To be launched in spring 2027

We currently offer only an awareness module where you can “read and learn”, featuring interactive activities and helpful videos. Unlike the TPP e-learning course, this specific module includes no assessment, and the Practitioner and Expert modules will be launched in spring 2027
