CMTA - Assessment preparation for the case study element of the contract management assessment (ADC)

Modified on Fri, 6 Sep, 2024 at 2:50 PM

What are they?

There are two practice exercises available to help you prepare for the case study element of the contract management assessment (ADC).

The first exercise focuses on Supplier Market Understanding and Political Insight and the second on Financial Literacy. For both exercises, you will be asked to review a scenario based on a 'child' version of the WLRP case study that you will be familiar with from the learning sessions and complete a task. We have designed these exercises to support preparation for the assessment day so we suggest completing both exercises 1 & 2 within a fixed time of 90 mins, as per assessment day conditions, and consider talking through your findings with a peer. Full instructions are provided on the GCC.

After the 90 mins, for each exercise there is a takeaway document and accompanying video that you can use to explore the different angles and options you could take and review your own approach. The takeaway documents are in relation to the scenario used in the exercises but can also be used as an aide memoire for future value. The videos provide additional commentary on the topic areas and the financial exercise video in particular offers expert insight into the scenario brief directly.

Where can I find them?

The exercises are available to download on the GCC via this new 'Assessment Preparation' page that can be accessed via the current module 2 and 3 pages. You can download and complete the exercises in your own time.

When should I complete them?

They are best used early on in your assessment preparation so we recommend looking at them as you begin module 2 (Practitioners) or module 3 (Experts). Speak to your Learning and Development Manager to guidance on how to build these into your learning.
